Numb
Alone
in this well-lit room
you wonder
at all the warm, radiant beings.
Their presence illuminates
the blocked off path,
as you sit
arms-reach away
from the finger tips
of their emanating heat,
and freeze.
Freeze from the tips of your limbs
to the bolts of your metal rims.
Your entire left side freezes over,
stopping in the middle,
leaving the warmth of your right arm
to remind you
what's missing;
what's wrong;
what hurts.
You scream so desperately
to relieve the anguish
of the cold,
but gnawing off
your limbs
will never be
your last resort.
Alone
in this well-lit room
you slowly
freeze over.

so you do want to interact with other people!
this proves it. you shouldn't want to go cold and die.
not quite. I was going through a strange version of homesickness because I went to the same school for 13 years (my high school had a joint elementary and middle school), with the same small set of people, so it was very cold and lonely being away from them all of a sudden.
