Lost Dreams
Breakfast bells,
and kisses 'round;
children laughing,
and growing fond.
Honeys leaving
for a long day's work;
school beginning,
and young ones afoot.
Left alone,
wandering soul,
you wonder how
you've lost it all.
Six long years
you worked so hard
and thought one day
you'd work at large.
Ten gone by,
and nothing yet -
but even now
you must still wait.
