Escaping Time

Lulling cold is creeping in,
it sets you apart,
it breathes blue in.
A senseless sleep arising about,
A motion worthy, swift, and stout.
The cloud dispenses on your face.
Tick.
Tock.
Tick.
Tock.
The broken clock still runs a pace.
Until it stops.
Until it breaks.
The broken clock can't pull the lace.
Your eyes blur open,
webbed and dry.
You're sleeping body
is not where you left it.
You're wresting body
is not still so high.
You're sleeping body,
awoken, yet still;
you're sleeping body,
lies cold, not yet tilled.
Awoken in white,
the dream still persists,
but the broken clock within,
still runs its own wish.
Where the feet could not run,
where the wings blew too high,
an empty oasis
you find it and die.
tick.
tock.
tick.
tock.
In an empty oasis,
you finally held life.
